How can ONCALL assist in the prevention of disasters?

My existing Network Management system already provides alerting of critical event information. What is unique about ONCALL?

Is ONCALL supplied with any configuration utilities for identification of OID's etc?

Is ONCALL web enabled?

Does ONCALL produce graphical and tabular reports?

How can ONCALL assist in the prevention of disasters?

Unlike network management applications such as Whats Up Gold, CiscoWorks, Optivity and Castle Rock's SNMPc, ONCALL is designed to operate separately to operational day to day Help desk operations activities and management applications

When other alerting systems have failed, ONCALL can provide early and independently generated notification of adverse conditions before catastrophic failure or facilities loss occurs

  • ONCALL is configured as a dedicated system monitoring only your most critical network devices and services.
  • ONCALL provides independent monitoring of all types of IP network infrastructure devices. ONCALL uses ICMP pings, snmp queries and traps to periodically test for metrics which operate outside predetermined values.
  • ONCALL uses a series of user definable actions which enumerate and test for adverse conditions before automatically generating alerts to one or several persons via GSM SMS messaging (cell phones, pagers etc.) SMS mail, SMTP messaging, pop-ups and Exchange mail.

ONCALL's purpose is to provide vital independent accurate data logging of critical events, enumeration, and, if necessary, messaging via independent paths using unambiguous language.

My existing Network Management system already provides alerting of critical event information. What is unique about ONCALL?
  • ONCALL has been purposely designed for monitoring and reporting adverse events
  • ONCALL is capable of using your LAN, PBX, private lines and GSM networks, pop ups and mail systems simultaneously to issue alerts
  • Alerts can be targeted via a calendar system to take care of communications method, shift changes and personnel availability
  • ONCALL can be used as a secondary system for proprietary management systems such as process control
  • ONCALL can be configured to monitor environmental conditions in your unmanned Data centre, telecomms equipment room and machine rooms

Many generic network management systems have alerting as a secondary activity and have limited functionality. This is not particularly conducive to disaster prevention.  In fact, day to day operations activities can accidentally render an alerting system useless through misconfiguration. Why take the risk?

Is ONCALL supplied with any configuration utilities for identification of OID's etc.?

Yes, ONCALL is shipped with a powerful integrated mib walking tool. This makes configuration easy!

Is ONCALL web enabled?

ONCALL uses a client / server model;  ONCALL Viewers are special instances of ONCALL customised by user account, to provide specific and individual views and features which would be uneconomic to reproduce as web pages.  ANEC will offer licences to some customers to use the ONCALL database schema to produce web sites as required.

Does ONCALL produce graphical and tabular reports?

Yes, ONCALL provides an ability to output the contents of log files, tabulated data and graphs from its integrated powerful graphics engine. Many formats are supported including xml, xls and plain text.
